Privacy Policy — Stowly
This privacy policy describes how Stowly handles information when you use the app.
Summary
Stowly is designed as a local app for storing loyalty cards, QR codes, documents, receipts, OCR text, PDFs, and local backups. Stowly does not create user accounts, does not include advertising SDKs, does not include analytics SDKs, and does not request network access — the internet permission is removed from the app. Stowly is technically incapable of sending your data to us or to anyone else.
Information stored on your device
Stowly may store the following information locally on your device, when you choose to add it:
- Scanned or imported loyalty card images and barcode values
- Scanned or imported QR code content
- Scanned or imported document and receipt images
- OCR text generated from documents or receipts
- App settings such as theme, language, backup preference, biometric unlock preference, and optional PIN lock state
- Local ZIP backups that you choose to create or import
This information stays on your device. It is not sent to the app publisher by Stowly.
Sharing and exporting
Stowly lets you export PDFs, images, QR codes, and ZIP backups. These actions happen only when you choose them. When you share or export content, the receiving app, storage location, or service you select handles that content according to its own privacy practices.
Camera and biometrics
Stowly uses camera access only to scan QR codes, barcodes, documents, and receipts. All scanning and text recognition happens on your device. Stowly uses biometric authentication only if you enable the optional app lock. Biometric matching is handled by Android; Stowly does not receive or store biometric identifiers.
Backups
Stowly can create local ZIP backups. If you choose encrypted backup export, the ZIP is protected with the password you provide. Keep your backup password safe — Stowly cannot recover it for you.
Data deletion
You can delete individual saved entries in the app, or use Settings → Clear all data to delete Stowly's local scans and metadata from your device. Uninstalling the app also removes app-local data according to Android's normal uninstall behavior.
Children
Stowly is not designed specifically for children. Since the app collects no data, no data is collected from children either.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the app changes. The updated version will be published at this same address.
